12:45 – 2:00 PM: Gas-Electric Coordination

Preparing for Extreme Weather – Recent years have seen an increase, both in terms of frequency and magnitude, of extreme weather events over widespread geographic footprints. With the changing resource mix and the increase in peak electricity demands during extreme weather events, the challenge to keep the lights on when the gas system is also constrained can result in loss of life and property, as was recently the case during Winter Storm Elliott. Come hear those that are in the trenches debate how to ensure reliable electric service during peak periods and extreme weather through improved gas and electric industry coordination.

Speakers include:

  • Craig Glazer, Vice President – Federal Government PolicyPJM Interconnection
  • Thomas Pinkston, Senior Market Advisor, Office of Energy Policy and Innovation, Federal Energy Regulation Commission
  • Chris Smith, Regulatory Counsel, Interstate Natural Gas Association of America

  • (Moderator) Andrea Chambers, Of Counsel, DLA Piper

2:10 – 3:20 PM: Energy and Technological Innovation in the Northeast

Energy and technological innovation is affecting the grid and resource adequacy across the northeast.
