2023 Rocky Mountain Chapter Annual Meeting

Join the Rocky Mountain Chapter for their 2023 Annual Meeting. The program will kick off with lunch followed by three informational panels. Topics include electric infrastructure security issues, midstream gathering & processing agreements, and private/public transmission development in the west. Join fellow attendees for a networking happy hour after the educational sessions!

12:30 – 1:30 PM Panel 1: Electric Infrastructure Security Issues
In this panel Jeremy will walk through of a real-world cyber attack that occurred at Tri-County Electric Cooperative followed by an update on current cybersecurity trends and cyber issues on the legal and insurance fronts.
1:45 – 2:45 PM Panel 2: Midstream Gathering & Processing Agreements 101
Crude oil and natural gas gathering and processing serves as a critical link in the value chain between upstream resource production and downstream end use. The agreements that provide for gathering and processing are complex and thoroughly negotiated documents that cover a wide variety of topics. This panel will focus on the fundamentals of midstream gathering and processing agreements. Learn from leading practitioners about the key provisions of gathering and processing agreements for natural gas and crude oil, as well as how these arrangements fit within the crude oil and natural gas value chains.
3:00 – 4:00 PM Panel 3: Private/Public Transmission Development in the West
Robust electric transmission development in the West is key to the energy transition. Recognizing this, the federal government and western states are taking a more active role in transmission development by partnering with private and other entities to assist with transmission planning, siting, and financing. In this panel, hear from leaders from the Western Area Power Administration, New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority, and Colorado Electric Transmission Authority regarding their efforts to date and strategies for the future to empower the West.
