What's New
The Spring 2009 issue of EBA's Newsletter, EBA Update, is now available on-line. This issue of the newsletter includes an interview with recently-appointed FERC Chairman Jon Wellinghoff. In the interview, Chairman Wellinghoff discusses his goals toward a consumer-empowered energy sector, as well as accomplishments he would like the agency to achieve during his term. The newsletter also includes an interview with Max Baumhefner, a third year law student at the University of California Berkeley School of Law who is the first law student to serve on the EBA Western Chapter's Board of Directors. Please also note the final President's Message of Donna Attanasio's term, as well as updates from the FELJ and CFEBA, which include an introduction the Summer 2009 interns. Finally, the newsletter bids a fond farewell to Philip R. Telleen, a great attorney and mentor who passed away last Fall.
In an exclusive one-hour video-taped interview now posted (under "Newsletters and Videos"), FERC Chairman Joseph T. Kelliher describes the attributes that he and Alexander the Great both want in a successor. He also identifies issues confronting the Obama Administration that the new FERC Chair should "elbow" into.
You will want to see and hear Chairman Kelliher discuss the accomplishments during his Chairmanship, and his writing plans for the future.
User ID and Password
Certain limited portions of the EBA website, such as the membership directory and website payment functions, require a username and password for access.
Your username is simply your last name. Your password is your four-digit EBA membership number.
Your membership number/password may be quickly, and automatically retrieved by clicking here.
You will be asked for your e-mail address. So long as the computer finds your e-mail address on file with the EBA, your membership number/password will be immediately e-mailed by EBA's computer to you, any time, day or night.
Court Opinion Summaries
The summary for 2005 energy related court opinions is now available. The summary features handy electronic links
to the full versions of each opinion. We have also added to the web site an archive of all
the past years' opinion summaries that we had in electronic format. They are each word searchable,
so not only are the latest year's summaries a good way to keep up, together the summaries are a
quick research tool. A complete, up-to-date, word-searchable set of the
tables of contents
of the ELJ is also a useful research tool.
Charitable Foundation Updates
The CFEBA plans to sponsor a Legal Intern at the California Public Utilities Commission during the Summer of 2009. If interested please visit the Interships & Scholarships section.
Calendar
A comprehensive calendar of all EBA and related organization activities
is now available on-line. As is the EBA President's Annual
Report to EBA Members.
EBA Web Site
Incremental changes and additions are
frequently made this web site, but a more thorough face-lift for the web site is currently
under consideration. While we always seek members' suggestions as to how this web site can
better serve their needs, your suggestions are especially requested and welcome now.
Send them to the staff at: admin@eba-net.org
