Join the New Orleans Chapter Serving Louisiana for their 2017 Annual Meeting & Conference at the Center for Energy Studies in Baton Rouge, LA on May 10, 2017. The Chapter is excited to present a full day of CLE, and many opportunities for attendees to connect, including a networking reception after the program.

Program Overview

Louisiana is at the epicenter of energy development in the United States.  Every Louisiana energy professional will be impacted by the developing federal and state regulatory landscapes and by the shifting political winds that are driving changes to our energy infrastructure.  The 2017 Energy Bar Association New Orleans Chapter Serving Louisiana Conference will bring together energy leaders in the law, government and industry from Washington D.C., Louisiana, and beyond to discuss regulatory and jurisdictional issues that are important to all Louisiana energy professionals.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain a federal perspective on Louisiana’s unique energy issues. Panels will focus on the following topics:

  • A View From and Of the FERC, A Discussion
  • The New Order of Federal/State Jurisdiction Over Energy Regulation; Other Recent Developments Affecting State Regulation of Energy
  • You Don’t Fool with Mother Nature:  Energy Infrastructure Hardening and Storm Preparation and Response
  • Current Issues in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration; Other Louisiana-Specific Energy Issues
